POOLE PIRATES team manager Neil Middleditch left Monmore Green Stadium wondering how they had lost by an 11-point margin to Wolves last night.

Poole RIAS had held the Black Country outfit to only a 36-30 deficit with four races left in the Elite League clash.

But then it all went wrong for the Dorset club as they conceded a 5-1 and two 4-2s to sink to a 52-41 defeat.

Middleditch, whose side used rider replacement for injured Krzysztof Kasprzak, said: "It is a little bit disappointing to lose by that many because we were holding it together up to heat 11.

"We missed a few opportunities earlier in the meeting, then dropped a few silly points that perhaps we shouldn't have done, but Wolves battled hard for their win.

"However, I still think we can pull back the 11 points at home in the battle for the bonus on May 31.

"We are capable of doing it as long as we score heavily early in the meeting."

Kasprzak had scored 11 points in Poole's 52-43 challenge match win at Wolves in March, but rider replacement only gleaned seven paid eight last night.
