TEENAGER Max Brick is a member of The Quays-based Southampton Diving Academy and specialises in the 10 metre platform event.

And the Southampton youngster’s potential has long been known, both locally and further afield.

He is a two-time winner of the Hants & IOW Junior Sportsman of the Year award.

And Brick has also been included on the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) 2012, a national government initiative supporting athletes preparing to represent Great Britain at the 2012 London Games.

In 2009, the 18 year-old won British Championships gold in the 10m synchronised with Jack Clewlow and came fourth in the individual event.

So impressed were the selectors with his displays that he was named as the new synchro partner for British diving’s golden boy, British and European champion Tom Daley, after his split with former SDA member Blake Aldridge.

Brick and Daley paired up for the first time at the 2009 FINA World Series event in Sheffield and came fifth and picked up a silver medal in their second outing.

But the pair went one better by striking Commonwealth Games gold in Dehli today.
