ANTHONY Pulis has spoken of his frustration at “being left in the cold” at Saints.

The 26-year-old midfielder joined Saints on a free transfer in August 2008 but hasn’t yet made his first-team debut.

He did manage to get some first-team action under his belt during a seven-game loan spell at League Two Lincoln City last season.

And he was sent out on loan again last week, joining Stockport County on loan for a month.

Pulis marked his County debut on Saturday against Gillingham with his first ever professional goal, albeit in a 2-1 defeat.

He said: “I’ve had a frustrating time to be honest, with a lot of injury problems and then being left in the cold a bit at Southampton.

“It’s been difficult.

“When you’re not playing, and you’re not involved, it’s easy to let your head drop and start moping and making excuses.

“But I made a promise to myself that I would work as hard as I could in training, so that if an opportunity did come along to go and play, then I’d be ready, and thankfully that’s happened.”
