MATT Ford believes Pirates' new signing, Chris Holder, will become world champion "within eight years or so."
The 18-year-old put pen to paper yesterday on a deal that saw him join Poole RIAS' asset base, although he will continue to ride for the Isle of Wight in the Premier League at the moment.
The reigning Australian Under-21 champion and World Junior Championship finalist may not even line up for the Dorset club next year because he may elect to remain in the second tier.
Ford, who unveiled Holder as a Pirates asset yesterday, said: "Make no bones about it, this guy is extremely talented.
"If any of you can persuade a bookmaker to accept a bet that he will be world champion within eight years or so, you should get your money on it now."
