Accurate Aldershot darts player James Wade is a game away from a place in the semi-finals of the World Matchplay Championships.
The 23-year-old rising star dispatched another top name to the oche sidelines at Blackpool's Winter Gardens yesterday to set himself up with a shot at experienced Chris Mason.
Wade who brushed aside Denis Priestley with a spectacular 10-1 victory in the first round saw off former Professional Darts Corporation matchplay finalist Kevin Painter 13-9 to move into the quarter-finals.
But there was no progress for Hampshire's other matchplay contestant.
Andy Jenkins played his part in another brilliant, high-scoring match in front of Sky Sport cameras but lost out to Dutchman Roland Scholten 13-8.
