RICKIE Lambert admitted he was “gutted” that his 17th goal of the season wasn’t enough to gives Saints derby victory at Fratton Park this afternoon.
Speaking after Joel Ward’s late leveller had seen the 37th south coast derby end 1-1, he said: “We looked comfortable until they scored – they didn’t look like getting back into it.
“We had a few more chances but we shouldn’t have to score twice to win – one should have been enough.
“We should have won, we’re obviously gutted we didn’t.”
