Chris Hobbs marked a successful return to the ring – but was still disappointed with his performance.
The Southampton light heavyweight had not fought in 2013 thanks to surgery on an injury but made a comeback at Fareham Leisure Centre.
He won a comfortable four-round points verdict over Angelo Crowe, and raised money for charity in the process, but still wasn’t happy with how it went.
He said: “Personally I don’t think I boxed great. I’m disappointed with my performance even though I got the win and I think I can do a lot better as I felt my timing was out.
“I felt every time I landed a good combo I didn’t stay on top of my guy and stepped back when really I should have forced it more.
“Angleo came to fight and wasn’t a journeyman. He tried to win which was good and at least I feel glad to be back after being out injured since November last year.
“I’m still unbeaten and still learning and I will be back in the gym this week to start training and working on things I did wrong ready to put in a better performance in the next fight which I hope will be in November.”
