Chris Hobbs has a new date and venue for his big fight night – but his ambitions remain the same.

The Southampton Army man is taking on Liam Conroy for the English light heavyweight title in the biggest bout of his career.

The date has now been pushed back six days to Friday, December 1, and the location moved from Preston to Birmingham.

However, the 30-year-old is unfazed by the changes.

He said: “I’m feeling great for this fight. The postponement doesn’t mean much to me but an extra week on my diet.

“This has by far been my best training camp. Maybe it’s down to my nutritionist I brought in this time called ‘Pro Nutrition Clinic’ or maybe I’m more settled in at Red Corner gym now, but everything has gone great.

“Sparring has been brilliant, my fitness is great and I am in the perfect position to make history and now the fight has been moved a little closer to where I am based I hope to have a few more supporters there.

“My trainer Glenn Smith says I’m the best I have been since being at the gym, they know how much I want this and how much the history means to me and I am now ready to add the English title to my collection.”
