CHRIS Wood ensured a dramatic win for Hampshire in the Barbados T20 Plate final.
The young all-rounder struck three successive fours in the final over to clinch a three-wicket win, with two balls to spare, at the Kensington Oval.
James Tomlinson (3-16), David Balcombe (2-24) and Danny Briggs (2-12) restricted Northants to 92-8 from their 20 overs.
Then Liam Dawson hit a 39-ball 27 before Wood’s lower-order heroics helped make up for the seven-wicket defeat against Yorkshire the previous day.
Michael Bates kept wicket, with new signing Adam Wheater unavailable because of a side injury.
Next up for Hampshire is a two-day friendly against Barbados, which starts on Wednesday.
