Hampshire age-group coach James Hughes has won the ECB Young Coach of the Year Award.
The 22-year old, who is involved in coaching eight different teams from primary school level to Hampshire Cricket’s Emerging Players Players Programme, is currently studying a Sports Coaching degree at Southampton Solent University.
He received his award from former England spinner and one-day coach Ashley Giles, the current Lancashire head coach.
The ECB Coach Awards were held at Warwick University and celebrated outstanding coaching achievements at all levels of the game.
There were nominees from the recreational and professional game and included local club junior coaches, district coaches and head county coaches.
