HAMPSHIRE signings Keith Barker and Jamie Fuller took seven wickets between them as Middlesex were reduced to 90-8 on the second and final day of their pre-season friendly at The Ageas Bowl.

Fuller top scored with an unbeaten 30 (45 balls), as Hampshire were bowled out for 102 in their second innings.

Captain James Vince (14) and Aneurin Donald (17) were the only other players to reach double figures as Steven Finn (6-0-26-2), Toby Roland-Jones (6-3-7-1), Tom Helm (6-3-17-2), James Harris (6-5-5-1) and Ethan Bamber (7-2-9-2) ripped through the home team’s batting line-up.

But Barker (6-5-4-3)and Fuller (6-2-13-4) were outstanding in reply.

Barker shared the new ball with Gareth Berg (7-3-8-0) and dismissed Nick Gubbins, who was caught by Sam Northeast in his fourth over, before trapping John Simpson and England one-day captain Eoin Morgan lbw for ducks.

Fuller had Max Holden (12) and Ollie Rayner (10) caught behind before dismissing Ben Scott and Rob White in successive overs.

Liam Dawson (4-0-7-1) claimed the last wicket to fall.

Next up for Hampshire is another two-day friendly against Sussex at Hove, starting on Monday.

That is followed by a three-day friendly against Oxford MCCU in The Parks from March 31 until April 2.

Hampshire begin their season with a Specsavers County Championship match against Essex at The Ageas Bowl on Friday, April 5.
