Adam Voges believes he has benefited from his Twenty20 experience at Hampshire.
Voges, who averaged 17.66 in seven Twenty20 games for Hampshire, hit 26 on his Twenty20 debut for Australia in the 54-run win against New Zealand on Tuesday.
He said: "I've played a few Twenty20 matches for Western Australia and Hampshire this year and the more you get to play, the more you learn about this form of the game.
"It wasn't easy to play Twenty20 cricket in such a wet summer in England but the experience of playing on slower, greener pitches, where the ball does more, was invaluable and it's paid off."
