Bashley (Rydal) plan to extend their 15-point lead in the ECB Southern Electric Premier League against a youthful Hampshire Academy on the Rose Bowl Nursery Ground tomorrow, 11.30.

Apart from coach Tony Middleton, the Academy field an entire team of teenagers, with Richard Morris the only contracted player listed.

But Bashley skipper Andy Sexton won't be fooled into thinking the Academy will be a pushover.

"They've got some very talented youngsters, three of whom play for England at various junior age levels," he pointed out.

But Bashley, who came within a whisker of beating South Wilts in a 290-run chase last week, are bang in form and know they possibly have their best ever chance of winning something this season.

"Our batters are in good nick and, with the Nursery ground normally a hard track to bowl on, we'll be looking to put some runs on the board," Sexton said.

Bashley make one change, with Millfield teenager Max Waller replacing the holidaying Paul Cass.

The second placed champions BAT Sports are boosted by James Hibberd's return against bottom side Liphook & Ripsley, who have yet to win a match.

But a fitness doubt still looms over left-armer Dan Goldstraw, so in-form Totton College youngster Ben Rodgers is on stand by.

Dorset opener Matt Swarbrick, who has a back injury, is another fitness worry for Bournemouth's visit to South Wilts at Bemerton, which is a dress rehearsal for next Thursday's Electric Cup semi-final at Southern Gardens.

Swarbrick missed last week's win over Hursley Park and Neil Staddon is on stand-by in case the Minor Counties batsman rings in sick.

Teenage opening bowler Ed Denham returns to the side, while Wiltshire's James Hayward is back for the Salisbury club.

Cockspur Cup drama kings Havant are strengthened by the inclusion of former Staffordshire opener Steve Dean against Alton at Havant Park.

But there's no place for opening bowler Richard Pineo, whose four-wicket haul set up this week's thrilling one-run South region final win over Reading.

Jerry Pang-Kessler is missing for Alton, but Michael Heffernan may not be out that long after breaking a finger two weeks ago.

Portsmouth face the first of consecutive trips to Hursley Park's ground at The Quarters, where the hosts need to arrest a lean run.

Portsmouth play there again in the Electric Cup semi-final against BAT Sports on Tuesday week, July 18.
