New Milton skipper Steve Watts has charged his promotion chasing side with a double mission starting with a victory in tonight's New Forest CCA President's Cup final against arch rivals Bashley (Rydal) at Cadnam, 6.15pm.

That accomplished, Watts, right, wants to see Milton trim Tichborne Park's lead at the top of Southern Electric Premier League, Division 3 with a win over Hambledon tomorrow.

"There's no reason why we can't beat Bashley tonight," Watts said.

"I accept they're clear favourites, but we're in a great run of form and, given the breaks, we can beat them."

Last week's loss to Bournemouth II has cut Tichborne Park's lead to six points at the top of SPL3 a margin which could be wiped out altogether tomorrow.

Tichborne, boosted by the return of the classy John Cook (broken finger), face an in-form Portsmouth, who have won their last four games, while New Milton entertain Hambledon at Fernhill a match they expect to win.

Second-placed United Services face an awkward visit to Hartley Wintney, while the return of Ben Nolan-Stone boosts Bashley (Rydal) II against Hook & Newnham Basics.

Burridge, out of the promotion frame after four defeats, are without Neil Cunningham at Sparsholt, who broke their own win duck by beating Andover II last week.

Division 2 aspirants Trojans have Paul Douglas, James Wood and Tim Felstead back for the visit of St Cross Symondians to Stoneham Lane.

Matt Perry-Lewis misses the match, but Jack Jenkins has returned from Sherborne and Richard Boote is called up to strengthen the pace department.

New leaders Andover will expect to stay top at Havant II's expense, but the absence of Charlie Forward for the next four weeks is a major blow for Old Tauntonians & Romsey, who call up the promising Ian Tulk at Rowledge.

Ventnor are unchanged against Hungerford, but key all-rounder Christian Pain misses Lymington's visit to off-colour Purbrook.
