Shane Warne has vowed to return to Hampshire for at least one more season - and hopes to end his career at the Rose Bowl.

The 37-year-old completed his fourth season with the county and his third as captain by leading the Hawks to the Pro40 first division at the Rose Bowl yesterday.

Now his sights are set on this winter's Ashes series - followed by an even more successful season with Hampshire in 2007.

Warne, who flies back to Australia tomorrow, said: "I'll be playing a grade game for St Kilda and three or four four-day games for Victoria before going up to Brisbane a week before the first Test so won't be putting my feet up for a couple of months.

"But I'll have a bit more time off in February and March so am looking forward to do that, and at this stage my plans are to come back.

"I'm 37 now and am not sure what's down the track but I thoroughly enjoy playing for and captaining Hampshire.

"Once the enjoyment stops it'll be time to retire because I'm not going to be one of those guys that hangs around for the sake of it.

"But I'd love to finish my career here. It depends on a lot of issues and I don't want to get too far ahead of myself but my plans are to come back and try and win all the competitions that we play."

Warne is hoping to return to Hampshire with one of Michael Clarke, Shane Watson or Simon Katich as the second overseas player.

He added: "I've spoken to Watson, Clarke and Katich. All of them would like to come back next year but it depends on the one-day schedule and whether they are all being selected for Australia in both forms of the game.

"Nothing will be finalised until early next year but I'll sit down with Rod Bransgrove, Tim Tremlett and Paul Terry to discuss what we want and what we think we need in the next few months."
