Hampshire's Sean Ervine is expected to make his Western Australian debut later this week after he was named in the Warriors squad for Friday's opening Ford Ranger Cup match against Victoria.
Ervine, who is entering his third season in the Warriors squad, has been named in the 12 man squad after a solid season with Hampshire in which he scored over 450 County Championship runs and took 26 wickets.
Ervine failed to break into the WA side in his debut season of 2004/05 while he missed all of last season through injury.
The former Zimbabwe all-rounder hit consecutive centuries over the past two weekends in the WACA Zone Competition (122) and the Retravision Shield (127).
Ervine, who played five Tests and 42 ODIs for Zimbabwe before joining the Warriors in 2004, will play alongside four one-time Southern Electric Premier League cricketers.
Opener Chris Rogers (South Wilts), wicketkeeper Luke Ronchi (Bashley-Rydal), Adam Voges (Bournemouth) and former Lymington left-arm spinner Aaron Heal are all named in the WA squad.
