Hampshire captain Jimmy Adams is preparing to lead the county in their first game of the season with a young, exciting seam attack.
Adams is without Dimi Mascarenhas (IPL), James Tomlinson (foot) and Kabir Ali (ankle) for the LV County Championship opener against Gloucestershire at The Ageas Bowl.
But Hamza Riazuddin could play his first Championship game since his debut four years ago, while David Balcombe is set for his first first-class outing for Hampshire for nearly two years.
Overseas star Simon Katich plays his first game for the county since 2005.
