Hampshire’s Sean Terry smashed 98 runs off only 48 balls as Bashley (Rydal) waltzed into the Southern Electric t20 Cup semi-finals with a handsome 86-run win over neighbours Lymington .
Terry cracked the Lymington bowling to all parts of the BCG, hitting five sixes and ten fours in a blistering 98 – his innings ending two short of a century when he was stumped off Glyn Treagus.
He shared an opening stand of 132 in 11 overs with Neil Thurgood (30).
Richard Morris (34) and Ryan Higgins (20) added to Lymington’s woe as Bashley closed at 218-4 (Damian Shirazi taking 2-28).
Shirazi (43) top scored in Lymington’s 132 all out, Jake Lilley finishing with 3-25.
The remaining quarter-final ties are due to be played this week, with Alton hosting Sarisbury Athletic at the JCG this evening and Bournemouth entertaining cup holders Havant at Chapel Gate on Thursday, at 6.30pm.
