POMPEY are now just two points ahead of the League 2 relegation area after crashing 3-0 at leaders Rochdale last night.
They would have gone level with second bottom Northampton had the Cobblers beaten AFC Wimbledon at home.
Northampton led 2-1 going into the sixth minute of injury time before Sammy Moore levelled for the Wombles.
If Northampton had held on, both they and Pompey would have been level on points with an identical -17 goal difference.
Pompey, who have now scored just once in six matches, would still have been out of the drpp zone by virtue of having scored more goals.
