NATHANIEL CLYNE FACTFILE

1991: Born April 5 in Stockwell.

2008: Aged 17, makes first-team debut for Crystal Palace in the 3-0 win over Barnsley on October 18.

2009: Makes 29 appearances during his first season, signing a new three-year deal along the way.

2010: Rejects move to then-Premier League side Wolves in January and, although used more sparingly in his first full season, plays 28 times for Palace in the 2009-10 campaign. Named the Football League's Young Player of the Year.

2011: Plays every one of Palace's 46 league matches in 2010-11 and receives first call-up to England Under-21s, having already played nine times for the Under-19s. Makes Young Lions debut in European Championship qualifier victory against Iceland.

2012: Linked with a move Manchester United in January, Clyne waits until the end of the season to decide his future. Named part of the Championship Team of the Year, he moves onto Saints on a four-year deal following the expiration of his contract with the Eagles.

2013: Starts 34 of Southampton's 38 Premier League matches and plays for England U21s at the ultimately unsuccessful European Championships in Israel.

2014: October 2 - Called up to senior England squad for first time by manager Roy Hodgson for European Championship qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia.
