AFC Totton could leap into pole position in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier tomorrow.

The formbook suggests they should beat visiting Alton - second placed Totton are one of only two unbeaten teams in the top flight while rock bottom Alton are the only side without a win!

Should Totton win, they will overtake current table-toppers Wimborne unless the Magpies can end Cowes' unbeaten record on the Isle of Wight.

Andy Sampson's Cowes have only conceded one goal in eight league games so far. Of those, they have only played three home games and defeated Lymington Town (5-0), Moneyfields (3-0) and Christchurch (2-0).

The only change expected to the Totton squad that moved to within a point of Wimborne by winning 2-0 at VT on Tuesday thanks to a Mike Gosney (pictured) double is the addition of Kevin Reacord to the squad. Reacord has missed the last two games after being involved in a car accident last Friday.

Totton boss Stuart Ritchie said: "Things are going well, the boys are buzzing.

"We're scoring goals and not conceding many.

"Clean sheets are hard to gain at any level, and we're getting ours by sheer hard work."
