HAVANT & Waterlooville are bracing themselves for a last-minute rush this morning from fans hoping to snap up the remaining tickets for the biggest game in the club's history.

As they did on Friday - the first day tickets went on sale - Hawks supporters gripped by FA Cup fever queued in their hundreds yesterday to get their hands on tickets to the club's massive FA Cup fourth round tie at seven-times winners Liverpool.

The Blue Square South side, who stunned League One leaders Swansea 4-2 last week to reach the fourth round, received an allocation of 6,000 tickets from the Premier League club and, after two days of selling them, only 240 are left.

Those will be on sale from the club's ticket office at 10am today.

Havant went back to Liverpool asking for more tickets but were told that 6,000 was the maximum number of fans that could be accommodated in the away fans section at Anfield.

Club secretary Trevor Brock said: "This is only the second day we have sold tickets and there are just 240 left. We were selling them on Friday, we didn't open over the weekend and we were selling them again today, so they have virtually sold out in less than two days.

"There have been queues of 300-400 people at the club."

He added: "We are a bit surprised to get 6,000 people travelling all the way up to Liverpool. It is not exactly a short distance is it? It's fabulous we can get that many fans that quickly.

"It shows what a potentially big club we have got.

"If we can sell that in two days, I'd not have thought selling 10,000 tickets would be a problem, but you can never tell with these things.

"The fans have really latched on to our cup run, which is really nice to see."

Havant will prepare for their big day by training at Manchester United's Carrington HQ on Friday.

And Brock confirmed that the Premier League champions have also invited the non-leaguers to Old Trafford as guests for their fourth-round home tie against Spurs on Sunday.

Explaining how it all came about, Brock said: "The finance director of our league's sponsors, Blue Square, happens to be the brother of Man-chester United's chief executive David Gill, so it all went from there.

He added: "Blue Square and Manchester United have been fantastic with us."
