BARRY Mason’s spectacular sixth-minute strike clinched unbeaten Sholing a 1-0 home victory over Hungerford Town in the Zamaretto South & West last night.
It was a match the visitors dominated for long spells – and yet Dave Diaper’s Boatmen hit the woodwork twice and had a late effort cleared off the line.
“It was a really weird game,” Diaper reflected.
“They controlled a large part of it and were probably the best team we’ve played this season.”
