HYTHE & DIBDEN will be officially unveiling £101,046-worth of ground improvements when they host neighbours Fawley AFC in a celebration friendly tomorrow night (Friday, 7.30pm kick-off).
New floodlights, boundary fencing, a pitch perimeter barrier and dugouts have been installed at the Watersiders’ new home at Clayfields Sports Centre, Dibden, SO45 5TN.
The project has been made possible thanks to a £70,546 grant through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF).
Funded with £5.2 million each year from the Premier League, the FSIF is the country’s largest provider of grants towards improving the comfort and safety of lower league football grounds in both the professional and amateur game.
These improvements range from new stands and turnstiles to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.
Tomorrow's special guests include New Forest East MP Julian Lewis and representatives of the Football Foundation.
To make the evening even more special, the Sydenhams One club would like to see as many of their former players as possible celebrating H&D’s move from their old Jones Lane HQ. Gates open at 6.30pm.
"Everyone is welcome to come down, enjoy the evening and see what's going on here," said H&D chairman Dave Cox.
