WINCHESTER City have booked their ticket to the fourth round of the Southern League Red Insure Cup.
Paul Masters' Southern One South & West promotion hopefuls triumphed 2-0 this evening away to a Hungerford Town side sitting seventh in the SL Premier Division.
Ex-Follands midfielder Jamie Barron had a hand in both goals.
With 64 minutes gone his persistence opened the door for top scorer Warren Bentley to fire City ahead.
Barron got the second himself, turning on the edge of the area before firing home left-footed with less than two minutes of normal time remaining.
City return to league action on Saturday away to Tiverton Town.
Their Hampshire FA Senior Cup quarter-final at home to Sholing has been rearranged for Wednesday, February 3 (7.45).
