FORMER Folland Sports wideman Rory Williams has become the second player to swap Gosport Borough for Havant & Waterlooville this summer.
Having run Wessex defences ragged as a winger, Williams successfully climbed the pyramid into the National League South with Gosport where he excelled as an attacking full-back.
He follows in the footsteps of central defender Ryan Woodford who recently returned to Havant from Privett Park.
For both it will be a step down the pyramid - though hopefully just a temporary one - following the Hawks’ relegation from the National League South to the Ryman Premier Division.
Admitting he had been a long-time admirer of Williams, H&W boss Lee Bradbury said: “I have always been impressed with him whenever he has played against us.
“He is a modern-day full-back who likes to get forward.
“He is another player who is young, local and hungry to do well and that is what I am looking for.”
Williams tweeted:“Always love the Boro & people who need to know, already know how much I'll miss them. Change was desperately needed and looking forward now!”
