KABBA Jack continued his impressive early-season form as battling Bashley maintained their 100 per cent home record with a 1-0 Sydenhams Premier win over Bemerton.

Watched by a 174-strong Bashley Rec crowd, the former New Milton and Brockenhurst striker netted his eighth goal in as many league games to keep the Foresters third.

The winner came four minutes before half-time when a move started by Jesse Gould continued via passes from Curtis Young and Shane Sheridan for Jack to round off with a poacher’s finish.

Bemerton laid siege to the Bash goal after the break, bringing the best out of captain/’keeper Joe Prodomo and the back four of Hugh Dathan, Brad Morris, Chris Lucas and Lewis Aimson.

But as the half progressed, chances came the Foresters’ way with Shane Sheridan twice going close with headers and Jack making a constant menace of himself.

Harlequins staged a late surge, but Tom Prodomo’s Bash – home to Aldershot Town in the Hampshire FA Senior Cup tomorrow (Tuesday, 7.45pm) – held strong for another confidence-boosting win.

"We played well in the first half and the second was more about grit and organisation," said boss Prodomo.
