Richard Bland heads to the Turkish Airlines Open this week, hoping the tournament will not be his last of the 2014 campaign.

The Stoneham pro has made it into the latest event of the European Tour’s Final Series, in Antalya, Turkey, which starts on Thursday.

The competition is the last before the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, in Dubai, which only the top 60 players in the order of merit will qualify for.

Bland (pictured) is currently 65th in the standings, having earned €458,492 in prize money this year.

He is about €70,000 shy of 60th place, meaning he will need a big week if he is to bridge the gap.

However, with a prize fund of more than €5.5m, there is scope for Bland to do just that.

The Southampton-based ace is in good form heading into the event, with four top-25 finishes in his last five tournaments.
