Calendar Girl is likely to take her chance in the BetMGM Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket next month.
The Advertise filly won three of her four starts last season, signing off with a Group Three success in the Oh So Sharp Stakes on the Rowley Mile.
A setback meant she did not make her reappearance until landing last month’s Dick Hern Stakes at Haydock and while she was a little disappointing on her most recent outing in Sandown’s Atalanta Stakes, connections of the Owen Burrows-trained three-year-old are putting that down to unfavourable ground.
Sam Hoskins, syndicate manager to owners Kennet Valley, said: “She’s really good and we didn’t think she lost too much in defeat the other day at Sandown. The rain came and I don’t think the times were that slow, but the jockeys were all saying it was soft and the soft ground horses were winning.
“We were only beaten two lengths and were a bit keen off a slow pace, so I think we’re going to have a yahoo at the Sun Chariot.
“She’s only had two races this season and she’s a fresh filly, so we’re going to have a go at the Sun Chariot and if we could be in the first four in that we’d be delighted.
“She’s a lovely filly and is probably the most exciting horse we’ve had for a long time. We’ve lost none of the dream with her.
“It would be very hard to win the Sun Chariot, but she won the Oh So Sharp on the course last year and she hasn’t got that many miles on the clock.”
