Caffari challenge is on the horizon
THE countdown has begun for Hampshire solo yachtswoman Dee Caffari, pictured, as she prepares for her next major challenge.
On NewYear’s Eve, the record-breaking sailor from Titchfield will set sail from Barcelona with co-skipper Anna Corbella in the doublehanded Barcelona Round the World Race.
Sailing Dee’s renamed Open 60 yacht GAES Centros Audivitos, the pair will be racing against 14 other yachts crewed by some of the best ocean sailors in the world.
“I have a nervous excitement now as I know everything the team does to the boat is the final check to make sure it is ready for the race,” Dee said. “There is no going back now – we need to get it right!”
