REALLY good news for local music fans, is that Southampton Jazz Club is re-locating to the Talking Heads, a premier local venue, in the Portswood, Swaythling and university area.
We want to blend in different styles with good local musicians, young and old.
Our first session features top guitarist Jim Mullen, who after playing with Dusty Springfield went on to international acclaim with the Average White Band and the Morrissey – Mullen Band.
In Jim’s line up will be pianist Ray d’Inverno, as they have recently recorded an album together.
Ray and myself have spent over 30 years with the Southampton Jazz Club.
We are excited about moving to the Talking Heads and forming a new committee. We hope to welcome new and old friends there when we move.
