In true Russell Howard style I would just like to share with you a special experience.

Outside WH Smith in town I was greeted by a young man asking me to support the British Heart Foundation.

Having introduced ourselves, I explained that I support a number of other charities and told him about the 26-mile walk my son and I are doing in aid of Naomi House children’s hospice.

To my utter surprise Louis immediately offered to sponsor me. Next thing I knew his colleague, Zoe, asked what was going on and insisted on sponsoring us as well! Needless to say I then signed up and walked away with a smile on my face that saw me through the rest of the day.

Just goes to show there are some lovely people in the world.

Just in case anyone else would like to support us, especially if you remember me as the barefoot lady of the Common and Bevois Valley or from my days at Hollybrook Infant and Junior Schools or as Marshal 3 at the Parkrun – our fundraising page is justgiving.com/suewilso67.

Thank you for reading this and thanks more if you consider supporting us.
