PLEASE could someone explain to me why the cycle paths along Botley Road towards Whitenap seem out of bounds to some of our Lycra-clad lovelies.

They insist on riding on the road, putting themselves and other road users at risk, holding up traffic and darting in and out of cars.

Could it be that the cycle path is used by children walking or cycling to school, do they feel they can get wherever they are going faster by riding on the road?

If I’m stuck in traffic do I mount the kerb and drive on the cycle path to get where I am going quicker?

No, I get up 15 minutes earlier.

Castle Lane is another example and a far more dangerous one.

Cyclists please use the path provided for you, don’t put yourselves and everyone else at risk.

J JOSEY, North Baddesley.
