IT would seem even the Americans have had enough of multinational companies failing to pay their dues.

Their politicians are now gunning for, of all firms, Apple, because the Government maintains Apple have failed to pay the requisite taxes due.

The Apple CEO has responded in the normal fashion, “we have paid all the taxes the system requires”

but agrees all payments are shipped to Ireland before being moved again to a further ‘Tax Haven’ in the Bahamas/ Caribbean area.

Maybe the time is now ripe for countries to agree a simplistic formula, to ensure where the money is raised by companies, that is where they are to pay the tax due.

Unfortunately countries which are ‘tax havens’ will rapidly decline in prosperity, so decisions could be a long time arriving.
