I WAS interested to see that you made the self service checkouts the subject of this morning’s Your Say (Daily Echo, July 2).
I have never understood why these things were introduced, presumably it was to reduce staff. Many users do not seem to know what to do with them.
Therefore, there is always someone there to help. Still I suppose one helper in place of two checkouts must be a good cutback!
It also seems that each one only has plastic bags. What will happen when these dreadful bags are banned by law?
I have never used one of these points and never will.
THELMA ASH, Bishopstoke.
