Rethink on dogs
I WAS deeply saddened to read that yet another 40 dogs were put to sleep (Daily Echo, September 13) I have been a responsible dog owner all my life until I came to live in council accommodation. I had no option but to find another home for my dog. I was devastated as I have a perfectly good home for a dog, a ground floor flat with area out the back and overlooking a large green.
The powers that be have no idea what happiness and security a dog can give, especially to lonely older people like myself. I feel that this council should have a rethink of their policies in this area.
