Stance is harmful to PHE’s credibility MRS Metcalf (Letters, September 16) informs us of a report from Bedford that the fluoridation system there is in need of repair.
Here is the perfect opportunity and excuse for discontinuing an expensive and unnecessary operation. But what does Public Health England do? Insist that it is to be repaired.
Health advice from PHE has featured in the news several times recently, and it would seem that many of its staff are genuinely interested in the public welfare.
I wonder if the organisation has any grasp of the fact that by continuing to harbour and support the fluoridation lobby it has done immense harm to its credibility when making public statements.
