I do wish the events of November 5 were correctly reported by the media.
Guido (Guy) Fawkes was discovered with explosives in Westminster Palace on November 5, 1605.
Since then “The Gunpowder Plot” was traditionally commemorated on this date by the burning of his effigy on a bonfire, followed by a display of fireworks.
References particularly on television of a “bonfire display” or “firework night” are misleading terms for an important historical event.
Please do remember, remember the fifth of November but for the true reasons of gunpowder, treason and plot.
