The media reports that a British solar power firm has come up with what appears to be an ideal solution to the idea of where to locate solar panel farms.
They suggest that instead of taking over great swathes of farmland for solar generating farms, it would be much simpler to place them on the top of open-air car parks of industrial estates/ out of town supermarkets, etc.
This would give a threefold advantage: 1. Leave agricultural land for the farmers; 2. Provide covered parking bays under the solar panels; 3. Provide electrical power for the adjacent businesses with another spin-off – electrical plug-in points for the forthcoming electrical cars.
Sounds like a very plausible idea/solution.
