Of course the local community of Derby Road is up in arms with the proposed filming of (Immigration Street), so would anyone in any other Southampton Street should the same proposal and intrusion into one’s lives be suggested for such a programme.

But that doesn’t alter the fact that Derby Road was chosen for what it is, a multicultural mixture of people most of who were or have been immigrants to this country since the Second World War.

This is not aimed at racism in any way but a fact of life (like it or not) and the company wishing to make the programme of this fact obviously feel that it will get considerable air time. (We already have Benefit Street) and I must admit it makes me squirm to watch.

This situation unfortunately has become a fact of life in Britain since our forced entry into the EU (please don’t deny this fact) and we must make the most of it until such time we have a complete change of government.

Most of the immigrants who are already here will in all probability stay with us (no problem there) many are now British citizens anyway, but this open border policy has to be urgently addressed and further immigration slowed to manageable numbers.
