SO Alan Lloyd's politically motivated book promoting a republican memorial has been quietly put in place near the Cenotaph in Watts Park.
He must wonder why the names of the men who fell in the Spanish Civil War were not added to it at the same time as the fallen of the Second World War if he thinks the cause the same.
Could it be that Mr Lloyd has taken advantage of a passing generation who knew that it was not?
Meanwhile, no doubt Mr Lloyd is seeking to erect memorials to Sotonians who fell in other conflicts.
