BRAD Watson (Echo on line, February 12) suggests that the Channel Arc Manche Assembly would "put England on the map''.
England is already on most maps, Mr Watson, and has been for more than 1,000 years. It is only the regionalists who have attempted to remove it and replace it with nine Euro regions.
Where is the democracy in the Channel Arc Assembly? Councillors are voted in to represent constituencies as councillors not trans national delegates of an unelected region.
Where did the mandate to form such a region come from?
By all means have such regions if the electorate vote for them. Let's also have an English Parliament. Let's put England back on the EU's map.
