CAN I say to Paddy Maxwell who will vote for the party who promises to clean up the streets: sadly there isn’t a party who can train the lazy public who, unlike you who has pride in your city, just throw down their rubbish even when there is a bin beside them.
I’ve seen a man from the council pick up every bit of refuse and brush up litter with a dust pan and brush and – hardly before he turned his back – a can and a plastic cup was thrown down.
Refuse and recyclable containers are supplied and still rubbish is strewn all around them.
So no matter how the “powers that be” try to do all possible to keep the streets clean, you can’t make lazy people take their rubbish home or use the bins supplied.
