PHILIP Hawkins writes in the letters page (Daily Echo, April 3) about using different words.
I’ve also got a few of my own. Have you noticed how these days our language is being corrupted?
My senses want to scream when television presenters say “train station” when they really mean “railway station”. And that nasty little word “kids” for children.
And while we’re on the subject, the word “homage” is pronounced like “porridge”, not in the French style like “fromage”. I know the English language is confusing but let’s not create confusion where there is none.
