WHAT would readers feel about the UK abandoning all bank holidays?

There would, of course, be time in lieu. The time presently given to employees, for the Easter and summer bank holidays, could be provided for and taken during the summer, dependent upon where they live in the UK.

Many families take holidays abroad. Apart from getting to their nearest airport, such families take traffic off UK roadways and rail network.

Those who choose to holiday in the UK continually face traffic gridlock and uncertain rail travel at bank holidays. This combines to make vehicle travel expensive and inefficient.

Subject to weather conditions, UK hoteliers and seaside resorts would benefit economically in having a steady stream of business. More importantly, holidaymakers would enjoy their trip and be more relaxed.
