DID you know that the penalty fare scheme on South West Trains is being enforced?
If you board a train without a ticket you will be fined. If you arrive too late to queue to buy one or to cross the platform and back before the train departs you will have to catch the next one.You will no longer be able to go straight to the guard to get one from him.
If you do not have a ticket you will be fined. I tried to get an answer when they started enforcing the rule and they said it always has been the rule.
Hinton Admiral has a ticket office and the permit to travel machine on the same side of the platform. The Weymouth line has no means of purchasing a ticket. So beware and get there early to cross the bridge and hope there's no queue or you'll miss the train or be fined.
