HOW dare Patricia Banks, the county council's executive member for adult services, say that Linden House no longer met the care needs of the elderly there. What an insult to the carers!

I can assure her that I would have been the first one to complain on behalf of my elderly aunt who has been in Linden House for three happy years.

The elderly people I have spoken to are quite happy with their rooms as they only sleep there, mostly they are downstairs attending classes. My aunt has learned to paint since being there.

I hope that Hampshire County Council will have second thoughts.

I wonder who saw that the chief of the county council is retiring at the age of 60 on £80,000.
