I AM furious after reading the letter in today’s Daily Echo about First Bus No 9 and 13 services, or lack of them, over the Christmas period.
Great – it will be a Sunday service which, as your correspondent rightly says, means no buses running through Merry Oak, Peartree and their onward destinations!
Don’t First Bus realise some people have to work between Christmas and New Year?
I work at Southampton General Hospital and get the 06.33 No 9 into town and then a bus onward to the hospital.
If the 9 does run it means I will have to walk to the Itchen Bridge at 6.15 in the morning – not a good start to the working day!
Also at the end of that working day I will have to walk home from the Bridge – oh joy!
I would like to appeal to First Bus, through your newspaper, to please reconsider their decision.
Cheryl Lovejoy, Itchen.
