History is there to be scrutinised but if we bind those from the past to current beliefs, we will have no statues left prior to 2020.
Whole swathes of history will be erased, good and bad.
How will new generations learn from past mistakes by eradicating all monuments that are judged to be offensive by a new cult, that demands that our view of history, must tally with theirs.
There are certainly people in history and more recent times that can be found to be wanting and will be judged accordingly but do not let the few, dictate to us all.
Toppling or removing statues gives ammunition to a lie and those lies will threaten our world today, far more than our past history.
