SPORT is a passion that unites many people across the country, regardless of age, gender, ability or background.

This unity is needed more than ever in these challenging times.

We know how much sport means to our residents’ physical and mental wellbeing.

With 7.2million older people in England physically inactive, it’s imperative they don’t miss out on the countless benefits of sport.

As the coronavirus pandemic has left major sporting events cancelled or postponed, this week, we’re calling on the nation to join our Summer of Sport.

We’ll be cheering our residents on as they take on a series of sporting challenges and share incredible memories of their sporting lives.

As well as helping people keep fit, we need to bring people across the country together.

We encourage everyone to take part by sharing their own sporting memories and joining in our tournament.

We may not be able to be at a stadium this summer but we can all still come together and benefit from a shared love of sport.
